Coach London Ontario, Mediator London Ontario, Negotiator London Ontario, Debbie Abt

I have a genuine passion for learning which led me to the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, and eventually a Master of Arts degree in dispute resolution. During my graduate studies, I was inspired by two books, Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life, by Marshall B. Rosenberg, PhD and crucial conversations, Tools for talking when stakes are high, by Joseph Grenny, Kerry Patterson, Ron McMillan, Al Switzler and Emily Gregory. These two books shaped how I approach communicating with others and I truly believe I can teach you to become a more effective communicator.

During my successful, 30-year career with the Ontario Public Service I performed a variety of specialized roles and participated on various Committees and Boards. I assumed leadership roles in my numerous capacities and was a mentor for new staff. I was acknowledged for my long-standing exemplary service with many awards. My office was the recipient of an Amethyst Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement by Ontario Public Servants, and it was in that moment I realized the importance of teamwork.

As far back as I can remember, family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances felt comfortable sharing with me their inner most thoughts, desires, dreams, goals, as well as problems. At a pivotal moment in my life and career, with the assistance of my own coach, I realized I should put my active listening skills into practice. I offer a variety of services including coaching, mediation, and negotiation. I’m here to help.
